WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College soccer first year forward Julia Jung (Oakland, Calif.) scored the lone goal of the game at the 29:18 mark in the second half to lead the Blue to victory over visiting Clark University in New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) action on Tuesday at the Wellesley Fields Complex.

The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Blue, improving the team's record to 6-8-0 overall and 3-4-0 in conference play. Clark now sits at 8-6-1 overall and 2-5-0 in the conference.

An evenly matched contest was broken open at the 60:42 mark, when Jung used a feed from junior Gen Crotty (Toronto, Ontario) to secure the lead.  Crotty headed the ball towards Jung on the play, where the first year forward chipped the ball into the net for her first collegiate goal.

Clark made a late push to tie, earning a corner kick with only 3:17 left in regulation,  but sophomore Macy Golman's (Dallas, Texas)  ball into the penalty area was cleared away by the Blue defense.

Wellesley first year, Olivia Reckley (Grosse Ile, Mich.) recorded six saves, five in the second half, to record her second shutout of the year. For Clark, first year Julianna Christy (Plainville, Conn.) made four saves in the setback. Wellesley had a slight edge in shots in the contest, 12-11, while also earning more corner kicks, 8-4.

Both teams will continue NEWMAC play on Saturday, October 22, with Wellesley traveling to Smith for a 3:00 PM contest and Clark welcoming Wheaton to Worcester at 1:00 PM.
