Jarrod Smith Joins Wellesley Soccer Coaching Staff as Goalkeeper Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Missy Price, Head Soccer Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice at Wellesley College has announced the hiring of Jarrod Smith as Goalkeeper Coach for the Blue soccer program.

A two-sport collegiate student-athlete in soccer and track & field at Newbury College in Brookline, Mass., Smith made 52 appearances in goal during his Newbury soccer career, recording eight shutouts and making 265 saves for the Nighthawks. In track & field, he competed in sprints and jumps and was a member of Newbury's 4x400m relay team at the 2019 DIII New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

While at Newbury, Smith also served as the manager for the women's basketball team and was a member of the Student Government Association. He has worked with Soccerplus Camps as a coach since 2016, teaching the fundamentals of goalkeeping and developing training schedules for multiple age groups.

Smith graduated from Newbury in May 2019 with a degree in Sport Management.
