Wellesley Soccer Falls on the Road at Clark, 1-0

WORCESTER, Mass. -- Clark sophomore Jamie Joseph (Cazenovia, N.Y.) scored the games only goal just before halftime as Clark University knocked off Wellesley College soccer, 1-0, in New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference on Tuesday evening.

Clark improved to 8-6-1 overall and 1-7-0 in the NEWMAC. Wellesley now sits at 4-11 overall and 1-7 in the NEWMAC.

Joseph sent the game winner past Wellesley first year goalkeeper Kendall Lincoln (San Diego, Calif.) just 2:10 before halftime. Joseph's goal came assisted by junior Sarah Berube (Wilmington, Mass.).

Sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Small (Quakertown, Penn.) earned the shutout for the Cougars with three saves on three shots. Lincoln finished the game with six saves on seven shots for the Blue. The Cougars finished with an 18-4 advantage in shots and a 5-4 edge in corner kicks for the road victory.

Both teams return to NEWMAC action on Saturday, October 26, as Wellesley heads to WPI for a 6:30 PM start and Clark hosts Coast Guard at 1:00 PM.
