Wellesley Soccer Earns Three NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Honors

WESTWOOD, Mass. -- The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2019 Women's Soccer Academic All-Conference Team. A total of 96 student-athletes were honored, including three from the Wellesley College soccer team.

A three-sport student-athlete, senior Kendall You Mak (San Francisco, Calif.) earns a spot on the NEWMAC Women's Soccer Academic All-Conference team for the third. In all, You Mak has now been named NEWMAC Academic All-Conference six times, including recognition during the basketball and lacrosse seasons. Junior Olivia Postel (Durham, N.C.) earned the honor for the second time in as many seasons, while sophomore Liz Zhou (McLean, Va.), a NEWMAC Second Team All-Conference selection as a first year, was named to the Academic All-Conference team for the first time.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2019 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at their institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

Wellesley soccer finished the 2019 season, the fourth for Head Coach Missy Price, with a 4-12-1 overall record and a 1-8-1 mark in NEWMAC play.


The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
