WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College squash won its fourth straight match to close out the regular season, defeating Boston College, 8-1, on Wednesday evening at the Dana Hall School squash courts.

Playing in her final regular season match in Blue, senior Sarah Tammaro defeated BC's Nora Elson to take the number nine matchup in the ladder with a 3-0 (11-2, 11-3, 11-7) victory.

The Eagles countered with a victory in the number eight matchup as Nels Matos engineered a 3-2 (7-11, 11-7, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9) victory over Blue junior Kate Loftus. However, BC would have little success in the reminder of the match-ups against the Blue.

Meera Nayar, Gabriella Wynne, Navisha Gupta and Ruby Feng also cruised to 3-0 wins, as Nayar defeated Carlie Ladda (11-4, 11-9, 11-3), Wynne defeated Mary Aidan Hanrahan (11-1, 11-2, 11-5), Gupta defeated Elizabeth Herman (11-4, 11-7, 11-2) and Feng toped Caroline Kulig, 3-0 (11-6, 11-6, 1-6).

Rhea Advani needed four games to get her victory in the number four positions on the ladder. After taking the first two games, 11-6 and 11-4, Advani was tripped up in game three, 9-11, by BC's Alison's Johnston. However, the Blue sophomore quickly rebounded to put away her opponent with an 11-8 win.

At the top of the ladder, the Blue's Sarah Zhang and Phyllis Lin both cruised to 3-0 wins. Zhang defeated BC number one Caroline Whelan (11-7, 11-3, 11-5), while Lin topped Alexis Ditomassi at number two (11-5, 11-5, 11-2).

Blue squash will square off with Amherst on Friday morning at 10:00 AM in the first round of the College Squash Association's Walker Cup Team Championship. The tournament will take place at Harvard University's Murr Center Courts, the site of the Blue's recent Seven Sisters Championship victory.
