School Record Performance Earns Sticco-Ivins ECAC Diver of the Week Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. — Wellesley College swimming & diving first year Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) has been named ECAC Division III New England Diver of the Week, for the week ending January 11, 2015. 

Sticco-Ivins, who has won three consecutive New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week Awards, earned this week's honor after winning three competitions and establishing a new Wellesley school record of 314.20 in the 3-meter (6 dive).  

On Wednesday versus Babson and Coast Guard, Sticco-Ivins recorded a score of 284.35 to win the 1-meter diving competition. On Saturday, she went on to win both the 1- and 3-meter events in a dual meet vs. Smith. In the 1-meter, Sticco-Ivins recorded the top score of 281.75, while in the 3-meter she was the only diver to score over 300, with her school record performance of 314.20.

Sticco-Ivins will look to help the Blue to their 18th consecutive Seven Sisters Championship this Saturday and Sunday at the Mount Holyoke College Natatorium in South Hadley, Mass.
