Sticco-Ivins Takes NEWMAC Diver of the Week Award

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College swimming and diving's Maura Sticco-Ivins has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Diver of the Week for the period ending January 18, 2015.

This is the fourth consecutive NEWMAC diver of the week honor for the Wellesley first year. A native of Framingham, Mass., Sticco-Ivins has earned the award five times this season: on November 4th and 23rd, as well as on December 8th and January 11th. 

Sticco-Ivins delivered a record setting performance for the Blue at this weekend's Seven Sisters Championships. She won both the 1-meter and the 3-meter competitions, setting event records with her scores of 515.50 in the 1-meter and 512.80 in the 3-meter. Her score of 515.50 in Saturday's 1-meter also set a new Wellesley school record.

Wellesley swimming & diving will be back in action tonight versus Tufts. Swimming will take place beginning at 7:00 pm at Tufts, while tonight's diving competition will be held at Wellesley's Chandler Pool beginning at 6:00 pm.
