Blue Swimming & Diving Wins Three Events on Day One of Wheaton Invitational

NORTON, Mass. -- Charlotte Harris and Dorothy Ren each won individual events, before teaming with Hannah Augst and Leah Furman to win the 400-Medley Relay, as Wellesley college swimming & diving competed on day one of the 2015 Wheaton Invitational on Friday evening.

Harris led a Wellesley sweep of the top four finishers in the 200-IM, as the Blue junior took the top spot with a time of 2:17.11. She was followed by Lindsey Wu (2:18.09), Grace Bachman (2:19.29) and Furman (2:19.56). 

Ren then captured victory in the 50-Free, leading a one-two-three Wellesley finish in the event. Ren was followed by Furman (26.15) and Patricia Chen (26.31).

Augst, Harris, Ren and Furman closed out Friday's competition with a victory in the final women's event, the 400-Medley Relay. Wellesley's 'A' team touched the wall with a time of 4:04.94, winning the event ahead of the Wellesley 'B' team's (Sharon Wu, Lindsey Wu, Sarah May and Patricia Chen) second place time of 4:13.22. 

Ren, Harris, August and Patricia Chen were narrowly defeated in the 200-Free Relay, as Wellesley's 'A'team finished just behind host Wheaton in the invitational's opening competition. The Wellesley 'B' team of Furman, Lindsey Wu, Sharon Wu and Grace Bachman took third with a time of 1:44.06.
