Swimming & Diving's 200-Medley Relay Team Earns NEWMAC Weekly Honor

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College swimming and diving's 200-Yard Medley Relay team has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Relay Team of the Week for the period ending February 8th, 2015.

The Blue quartet of junior Charlotte Harris (Cincinnati, Ohio), junior Dorothy Ren (San Jose, Calif.) sophomore Hannah Augst (Richmond, Va.), sophomore Sharon Wu(Northfield, Ill.) opened day two of the Wheaton Invitational with a victory over the host Lyons. Wellesley's 'A' team delivered a time of 1:51.95 to top the second place mark of 1:55.59.

Both Harris and Ren also won three individual events on the weekend. On Friday, Harris led a Wellesley sweep of the top four finishers in the 200-IM, with a time of 2:17.11. Harris also had the top time of 4:51.36 in the 400-IM and the 100-Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.55. Ren was the top-finisher in the 100-Fly (58.97) and the 100-Back (1:00.32) on Saturday after winning the 50-Free (25.09) on Friday.

Augst also added an individual victory in the 200-Free with a time of 2:00.41.

Blue swimming & diving will return to action in two weeks at the 2015 NEWMAC Swimming & Diving championships, February 19-22 at WPI.
