Blue Diving’s Sticco-Ivins Sweeps Both Boards at Regionals; Advances to NCAA Championships

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Wellesley College swimming & diving first year Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) used a score of 512.90 to win the 3-meter competition on day two of the 2015 NCAA Division III Diving Regionals at Springfield College's Art Linkletter Natatorium. 

Sticco-Ivins swept both the 1-meter and 3-meter events on the weekend and will advance to represent the Blue at the 2015 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships, March 18-21 at the CISD Natatorium in Shenandoah, Texas. 

On Friday evening, Sticco-Ivins won the 11-dive, 1-meter competition with a score of 546.65. Her score established a new New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and Wellesley College record. 

A native of Framingham, Mass., Sticco-Ivins is the 2015 NEWMAC Women's Diver of the Year. She earned NEWMAC Diver of the Week honors seven times during her rookie season and was also named the ECAC New England Division III Regional Diver of the Week five times. 

In addition to her school record in the 1-meter (11 dives), Sticco-Ivins holds the Wellesley school records in both the 1-meter (6 dives), with a mark of 332.34, and the 3-meter (6 dives) with a score of 329.10. 

Wellesley College sent four divers to the 2015 NCAA Regional in Springfield, more than any other competing institution. First year Emily Moore (395.50), sophomore Maddie Stern (381.65) and senior Gabby Cooper-Vespa (375.30) also took places 15 through 17 in the 3-meter final on Saturday.
