Wellesley Swimming & Diving Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

WELLESLEY Mass. — Wellesely College swimming & diving has been named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, the CSCAA announced on Tuesday.

The Blue were paced by five individual honorees, as first year and NCAA 3-Meter Diving National Champion Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) was named to the Scholar All-America team. In addition, senior Gabby Cooper-Vespa (Orange, Conn.) and sophomores Hannah Augst (Richmond, Va.), Maddie Stern (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Sharon Wu (Northfield, Ill.) all earned honorable mention Scholar All-America selections. 

The Blue's team recognition comes as a result of the programs' classroom performance during the spring semester, as programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester to be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team. 

To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at their respective qualifying meets. 

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) – the oldest organization of college coaches in America -is a professional organization of college swimming and diving coaches dedicated to serving and providing leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming & diving at the collegiate level.
