Sticco-Ivins Grabs Seventh NEWMAC Diver of the Week Award

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving sophomore Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Diver of the Week for the week ending January 30th, 2016.

This is the seventh NEWMAC Diver of the Week honor for Sticco-Ivins during the 2015-16 season, matching the seven awards she recieved during her rookie campaign in 2014-15. This season, she also earned the award for the weeks ending: November 8th, 15th and 22nd, December 6th, as well as January 10th and 24th.

Sticco-Ivins swept the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events in Wellesley's Saturday afternoon tri-meet with Bates and Connecticut College. She scored 338.15 to win the 3-meter competition after opening her day by taking the title with a score of 306.55 on the 1-meter board.

The defending NEWMAC champion in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, Sticco-Ivins will look to defend her titles later this month when Wellesley swimming & diving heads to the 2016 NEWMAC Swimming & Diving Championship, February 18-21, at MIT's Zesiger Center Pool. Wellesley finsihed third in the team standings at the 2015 NEWMAC Championship.
