Wellesley Welcomes Jack Lewis as Diving Coach

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College swimming & diving head coach Bonnie Dix has named Jack Lewis the Blue's new Diving Coach. Lewis will join the program for the 2016-17 season.

"Jack brings tremendous passion and enthusiasm for the sport of diving, along with a long term vision for developing a nationally recognized program," said Dix. "He is driven to help both novice and veteran divers to learn about themselves and to achieve the most that they can through the sport he loves."

A 2015 graduate of Springfield College, Lewis is among the most decorated divers in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) history, having earned Diver of the Year honors twice and NEWMAC Diver of the Week honors 18 times.

"I am looking forward to joining the Wellesley swimming and diving family, as it is such a well respected program and has a rich history of not only amazing coaches, but amazing divers," said Lewis.

While at Springfield, Lewis made two NCAA appearances under the guidance of head coach Peter Avdoulos, earning three All-American honors. He currently holds the Springfield school record on the 3-meter board (579.05). Prior to his time at Springfield, Lewis started diving with the Charles River Diving program in Dover, N.H., where he was coached by Wellesley All-American Amy Parratto '83.

"I could not be more excited. Jack is going to bring his incredible enthusiasm, loyalty, and love of the sport to our dive program," said rising senior Maddie Stern (Phoenix, Ariz.). "Our divers are committed to community, supporting each other, and excelling in the pool, and Jack is only going to help us further that."

"He has been coached by two of the best diving coaches around, and brings an understanding of what it takes to continually strive improve," said Dix. "We are very excited to welcome him."
