Wellesley Swim & Dive Lands Seven On NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

WELLESLEY, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2016-17 Women's Swimming & Diving Academic All-Conference team and seven members of the Blue have been recognized for their success in the classroom.

Senior Rebecca Jennings (London, United Kingdom) leads the way for the Blue, earning her third selection in her third year of eligibility. Classmate Maddie Stern (Phoenix, Ariz.) and juniors Sophia Dillon-Davidson (Amherst, Mass,) and Lindsey Wu (Livingston, N.J.) each earned their second Academic All-Conference awards. Junior Maura Sticco-Ivins (Framingham, Mass.) and sophomores Jessie Feng (Princeton, N.J.) and Crystal Zhu (Chelmsford, Mass.) all earned the honor for the first time.

Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2016 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
