Wellesley Swimming & Diving Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named the Wellesley College women's swimming and diving team to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 Semester.

At Wellesley College the student-athletes are an important part of the community. They excel in the classroom, hold leadership positions, work internships, do research, and sing in acapella groups... among other activities. These other experiences and opportunities are an important part of the lives of Division III student-athletes. Throughout the year WellesleyBlue.com, has highlighted student-athletes for what they do outside their sport through Monthly Student-Athlete Spotlights. So far we have featured five different student-athletes: Zojajha Ayub '19, Ashley Peng '19, Olivia Reckley '20, Kerry Wells '20, and Catherine Xie '19. As part of NCAA Division III Week, our April Student-Athlete Spotlight is junior Swimmer Danielle Peterson.
10 Blue Student-Athletes Named to Winter NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2018-19 Winter Academic All-Conference Team and a total of ten Wellesley College student-athletes have been honored for their academic excellence in the classroom.

Wellesley College swimming & diving finished first in 13 of 16 events to defeat Merrimack College, 205-82, in a dual meet on Friday at Chandler Pool and Saturday at the North Andover YMCA.

Wellesley College swimming & diving claimed the program’s 22nd consecutive title on Sunday at the 2019 Seven Sisters Swimming and Diving Championship at Smith College’s Dalton Pool. The Blue have now won 29 Seven Sisters Championships in all and every title since 1998.

First Year Jessica Wegner (Taipei, Taiwan) set a new Wellesley College swimming & diving program record in the 100 Fly to lead the Blue on the final night of the MIT Invitational at the Zesiger Center pool. Wellesley finished fifth overall in the team standings with 424 points.
