Wellesley Swimming & Diving Named CSCAA Scholar All-America Team

Colorado Springs, Colo. – The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) has named the Wellesley College women's swimming and diving team to its Scholar All-America team for the Spring 2019 Semester.

A record 480 institutions were named Scholar All-America across each NCAA Division this spring. At 3.45, the median GPA among women's teams was the highest on record. To qualify, teams must have a cumulative GPA of over 3.00, with the Blue totaling at 3.42 cumulative mark.

"Coach (Bonnie) Dix has long been a model for coaches seeking a successful balance between success in the pool and classroom," noted CSCAA Executive Director Greg Earhart of Wellesley's accomplishments this season.

Wellesley finished in fifth place at this year's New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) championships after going 6-1 in dual meets and capturing the program's 22nd consecutive Seven Sisters Championship during the pre-championship season. In addition to the CSCAA's recognition of the Blue's work in the classroom, eight members of the team were named to the NEWMAC Academic All-Conference team in March.
