Tennis Opens Bowdoin Invitational with Four Wins

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Wellesley College tennis team is in action this weekend at the three-day Bowdoin Invitational. The Blue are taking on competition from Bowdoin and Bates, competing as individuals in both singles and doubles.

In Friday action, Wellesley picked up two doubles wins and two singles wins. In doubles, Sojung Lee and Carina Chen paired up for an 8-4 win over Mandzhukova and Erbafina of Bates, while Kendall Tada and Samantha Stone paired up for a 9-7 win over Rosenthal and Voccola of Bates.

In Friday singles play, Lee and Andjela Stojkovic both picked up victories. Lee was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Bates' Brennan, while Stojkovic topped Bowdoin's Giffenig, 7-5, 6-1. 

Action continues tomorrow morning at 9:00am.
