Tennis Wraps Play at Bowdoin Invitational

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- The Wellesley College tennis team wrapped up play at the three-day Bowdoin Invitational on Sunday. The individual event featured singles and doubles play against host Bowdoin, as well as Bates College.

The Blue picked up four more victories on day three, which featured only singles play. The four wins today, ran Wellesley's three-day total to 14 victories.

Junior
Sojung Lee led the way with a win over Bowdoin's Cheng, 7-6(8-6), 6-3. Lee finished her weekend undefeated in singles play. First-year Carina Chen also recorded a victory today, topping Bates' Brennan, 6-2, 6-0. Chen notched victories over both the number one and number two players from the Bobcats this weekend.

First-years
Andjela Stojkovic and Samantha Stone also picked up wins on Sunday. Stojkovic defeated Bates' Erbafina, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5, while Stone was an easy 6-0, 6-0, winner over Hough of Bates. 

Wellesley tennis is back in action hosting the semifinals and finals of the 2013 NEWMAC Championship. The Blue will play on Saturday against the winner of Wheaton and Springfield.
