Wellesley's Lee and Chen Wrap Up Play at NCAA Championships

CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The Wellesley College tennis doubles team of junior Sojung Lee and first-year Carina Chen wrapped up play at the 2014 NCAA Division III Doubles Championship with a loss in the round of sixteen.

With their last match being played nearly six weeks ago, Lee and Chen drew a tough opponent in their first NCAA appearance. The Blue duo were matched up with the second-seeded team from the West Region, Samantha Chao and Lea Lynn Yen of Pomona-Pitzer.

Chao and Yen picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Wellesley's pair, knocking them out of the tournament. The Pomona-Pitzer duo now advance to the quarterfinals to play the top-seeded pair of Shelby Harris and Lindsay Raulston of Mary Washington.

Today's match wrapped up a fantastic season for Lee and Chen. The pair finished the year with an overall record of 15-6, earning Wellesley's first individual NCAA tournament bids since 2008.
