Stojkovic Named NEWMAC Singles Player of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College tennis player Andjela Stojkovic was named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Singles Player of the Week for the period ending August 31st.

Stojkovic, a Victoria, British Columbia native, lead the #28 Blue to victory in their only match last week. The sophomore cruised to a 6-0, 6-1 win, playing her first match at one singles for Wellesley. Stojkovic topped returning All-CCC player Amy Heacox, leading the Blue to an 8-1 win over Endicott, a team that advanced to the NCAA second round in 2014.

Stojkovic also picked up a win at one doubles, pairing with first-year Caroline Hsu for an 8-3 victory.

Wellesley tennis is back in action on Saturday, September 6th, hosting Smith College at 1:00pm. The match marks the beginning of conference play for the Wellesley.
