Wellesley Tennis Welcomes Barry as Assistant Coach
WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College Head Tennis Coach and PERA Assistant Professor of the Practice Brian Kuscher has announced the hiring of Kelly Barry as Assistant Tennis Coach. Barry comes to Wellesley following a stint as an assistant professional at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass. She also has two years of teaching experience at Northeast Tennis Center in Middleton, Mass.

As a student-athlete, Barry played as high as number one singles for Division I Marquette University during her freshman and sophomore seasons before transferring to Boston College for her junior and senior seasons. In her sophomore season at Marquette, Barry was ranked as high as 103 in the ITA singles rankings after defeating an All-American player from the University of South Carolina.

Barry played number three singles as a junior and senior at Boston College, helping the Eagles climb as high as No. 33 in the national rankings. She also earned ITA Academic Honors as well as the BC Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement during her senior season. She received her B.S. in Biology from Boston College in 2013. Outside of tennis, Barry is an avid runner and yoga enthusiast. She is originally from Elmhurst, Ill. and currently resides in Jamaica Plain.

Barry and the Blue will open the 2015-16 campaign on Thursday, September 3rd when Wellesley hosts Assumption at 5:00 PM.
