Huang, Markwart Fall in Doubles Round of 16 as Blue Tennis Concludes Play at ITAs

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Wellesley College tennis wrapped up play on Saturday at the 2018 ITA Women's Tennis New England Regional Championships, hosted by Williams College on the Torrence M. Hunt Courts.

After advancing to the doubles round of 16 with an 8-6 victory on Friday afternoon, senior Justine Huang (Coto de Caza, Calif.) and first year Michaela Markwart (Hanover, Mass.) dropped an 8-5 final to Amherst to conclude the tournament. 

Huang and first years Libby Chang (San Marino, Calif.) and Michelle Shen (Dallas, Texas) also played singles matches in the tournament's consolation round, with Huang earning a 7-6, 6-1 win and Shen earning a 6-3, 6-0 victory. Chang dropped a 6-3, 6-1 final in her match. 

Wellesley tennis will return to action on Friday and Saturday, October 12-13, at the Bowdoin Invitational in Brunswick, Maine.
