Wellesley Lands Four on NEWMAC Spring All-Sportsmanship Team

WESTWOOD, Mass. - The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has released the 2021 Spring All-Sportsmanship selections and four Wellesley College student-athletes have been recognized by their teams and the conference office.

Lacrosse senior Louise Conaty (Wilmington, Del.), softball senior Lucy Cheskin (Mountain View, Calif.), tennis senior Lily Chu (Princeton, N.J.) and track & field senior Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) each earned a spot on the sportsmanship squad. Each will graduate from Wellesley next week. Conaty is an Economics major, Cheskin is an Economics and Spanish major, Chu is a Media Arts and Sciences major, and Cowles is a Neuroscience major.

The award is intended to recognize one student-athlete from each institution in every sport that best demonstrates the ideals of the NEWMAC and its Code of Conduct, regardless of their overall performance or statistics for the season.  Student-athletes were recognized in each of the sports that competed for NEWMAC championships this spring, including student-athletes from institutions that did not participate in competition. In all, 64 spring student-athletes were honored.
