Parlman and Mu Compete at the ITA Regionals on Saturday
BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Ashleigh Parlman (Acton, Mass.) and Annissa Mu (Saratoga, Calif.) competed in the doubles bracket and Parlman played in the singles A draw on Saturday at the ITA Regionals hosted by Bowdoin.
Doubles
Parlman and Mu started off day two with a win in the round of 16 over a Bowdoin duo. The pair won comfortably by a score of 8-3 over Fleming Landau (Charlotte, N.C.) and Jamilah Karah (Berkely, Calif.) to advance to the quarterfinals. The duo battled with Claudia Miller (Sullivan's Island, S.C.) and Sahana Raman (Acton, Mass.) but fell 8-4. In the two days, Parlman and Mu finished 3-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals in their second career match as a pair.
Singles
In the A draw, Parlman was the last survivor for the Blue. She took on the #2 seed Caitlyn Ferrante (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) of Wesleyan University. The first set was 7-6(2) by Ferrante in a tight battle from start to finish. Parlman could not recover in the second set and fell 6-2.
Wellesley tennis returns next week for the NEWITT Tournament starting on Friday.
