Blue Track & Field Takes Sixth at ECAC DIII Indoor Championships

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Wellesley College track & field totaled 29 points over two days to finish in sixth place overall at the 2015 ECAC Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Armory in New York City. 

Senior Taylor Bickford and junior Priyanka Fouda earned the Blue 12 points in the 5000 meter run on Friday before Wellesley went on to earn 17 more points on Saturday.

Sophomore Mary Keenan delivered a standout performance in the 3000 meter run, finishing in second place and grabbing eight points with a time of 10:12.82.

Classmate Isabella Narvaez then grabbed the Blue five more points with a sub-58 second time of 57.93 in the 400 meter run.

In the 500 meter dash, senior Kendra Waters finsihed sixth, grabbing three more points with a time of 1:18.87.

A week after breaking the school record, the Blue's 4 x 400 meter relay team of junior Sharon Ng, Waters, Narvaez and senior Kathleen Hanlon ran to an eighth place time of 3:59.51 to grab the Blue's final point of the weekend. Ng also took 9th in the 800 meter run with a personal record time of 2:17.86.
