CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore Isabella Narvaez (Greenwich, Conn.) set a new school record in the 400m dash as Wellesley College track & field opened competition at the NEICAAA New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon at MIT's Henry G. Steinbrenner Track.

The 2015 New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference Champion in the 400m, Narvaez clocked in a 56.99, well eclipsing her previous mark of 57.38, to finish in 13th place overall and fourth among Division III competitors in the cross-divisional championship meet.

In the long jump, first year Abena Asare (Berlin, N.J) finished in sixth place with a mark of 5.64m. Only Veronica Szklarzewski of MIT had a better mark among DIII competitors, finishing second at 5.74m.

Wellesley's distance runners shined in the 5,000m run, earning the Blue a pair of top-five times. Sophomore Mary Keenan (Boerne, Texas) and senior Taylor Bickford (Limington, Maine) both set personal records to take third and fourth place. Keenan finished with a time of 17:11.17, while Bickford followed at 17:16.03. Junior Priyanka Fouda (Wellesley, Mass.) also competed in the event, finishing in 14th place at 17:53.61.
