Blue Track & Field Grabs Ten Spots on NEWMAC Academic All-Conference Team

BOSTON, Mass. – The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2016 NEWMAC Women's Track & Field Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday and Wellesley College placed ten student-athletes on the squad. 

Seniors Caitlin Bailey (Old Forge, N.Y.) , Carolyn Chelius (Haddonfield, N.J.) and Priyanka Fouda (Wellesley, Mass.), junior Alice Zhou (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and sophomores Taylor Fortnam (Portola Valley, Calif.), Isabella King (Cincinnati, Ohio), Priscilla Lee (Anaheim, Calif.), Clare Salerno (Johnson, Vt.), Leilani Stacy (Collierville, Tenn.) and Caroline Hsu (Boca Raton, Fla.) made up the ten Blue representatives on this year's team. 

In all, the 2016 Academic All-Conference Team consists of a 77 NEWMAC women's track & field student-athletes. Honorees must have met the following criteria: earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 scale or 4.35/5.0 scale after the 2015 spring semester, achieved second year academic status at her institution, and been a member of the varsity team for the entire season. Click here for the complete list of winners.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference consists of 11 highly selective institutions committed to academic excellence: Babson College, Clark University, U.S Coast Guard Academy, Emerson College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mount Holyoke College, Smith College, Springfield College, Wellesley College, Wheaton College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
