WALTHAM, Mass. – Senior Isabella Narvaez (Cali, Colombia) set a new school record of 7.64 seconds in the 55m Dash and sophomore Helen Andersen (Madison, N.J.) broke her own school record in the shot put with a toss of 10.57m on a busy Saturday for Wellesley College track & field at Brandeis University's Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational at the Gosman Sports Center.

The Blue also grabbed a pair of qualifying times for the New England Division III Indoor Championships on the strength of Narvaez's first place performance (1:00.56) in the 400 Meter Dash and senior Sonja Cwik's (La Canada, Calif.) runner-up time (2:27.42) in the 800 Meter run.

Narvaez and first year Hannah Cohn (Chicago, Ill.) each dropped the school record in the preliminaries of the 55m, clocking in at 7.69 and 7.73, respectively. Cohn just missed the cut for the finals, taking seventh behind Narvaez in sixth, as Narvaez went on to lower the school record with a fifth place finish in the final. Cohn also added a third place finish in the 400m Dash with a time of 1:03.07, just a week after setting the school mark in the 60m (8.02) at the season opening Smith Winter Classic.

Junior Isabella King (Cincinnati, Ohio) and seniors Edie Sharon (Winchester, Mass.) and Sara Vannah (Amherst, Mass.) added to the Blue's run of top-five finishes on the track. King was fourth in the 600 Meter Run (1:51.09), while sophomore Jenn Harris (Vestal, N.Y.) took eighth in 1:58.93. Sharon posted a runner-up time in the Mile (5:30.99), with junior Taylor Fortnam (Portola Valley, Calif.) adding a seventh place time (5:41.64) for the Blue. Vannah was one of three Wellesley runners in the 3000m Run, taking fourth (11:04.22), ahead of first year Fiona Harrigian (San Marino, Calif.) in tenth (12:07.36) and sophomore Catherine Xie (Newton, Mass.) in 11th (12:32.27).

Andersen's school record mark of 10.57m in the shot put was good for third on the day, while first year Crystalina Guo (Montgomery, N.J.) took ninth (9.41m) and senior Susannah Perkins (Ottsville, Pa.) was 11th (8.43m). Guo had the top mark for the Blue in the weight throw, taking fifth with a toss of 11.39m. Perkins was tenth in the weight throw at 7.83m.
