Cowles Sets PR as Four From Wellesley Track Open Silfen Invitational
NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Sophomore Grace Cowles (Yarmouth, Maine) set a new personal record in the 1,500m as four members of the Wellesley College track & field team competed on Friday evening at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College.
Cowles finished 15th with a time of 4:47.84 in the 1500m, topping her mark of 4:51.36 from last weekend's Coast Guard Invitational. Also in action for the Blue, junior Eva Paradiso (Burlington, Vt.) made her first collegiate track apperance in the 5,000m with a time of 18:18.07 to finish in 15th. Classmate Fiona Harrigian (San Marino, Calif.) was also making her collegiate debut competing in the 10,000m. Harrigian finished 17th in 41:32.38.
Senior Catherine Xie (Newton, Mass.) was the fourth member off the Blue on the track on Friday evening. Xie joined Harrigian in the 10,000, finishing 15th in 40:52.80.
