Ari Marks Wins the 2022 NCAA DIII 10,000 Meter National Championship

GENEVA, Ohio – Wellesley track & field senior Ari Marks (Eagle Point, Ore.) won the 2022 NCAA Division III National Championship in the 10,000 meter run on Thursday evening at the SPIRE Institute. 

Marks clocked in at 34:50.55 to win her first NCAA individual national championship, finishing ahead of runner-up Kassie Parker of Loras College (35:17.82). Marks is the second national champion in Wellesley track & field program history, joining Randelle Boots '13 who won the indoor mile in 2011. Marks is the fourth student-athlete in Wellesley College history to win an NCAA individual title. 

Earlier in the day, classmate Maya Bradbury (Freeport, Maine) competed in the 3000 meter steeplechase trials and ran an 11:41.33 to place 21st overall but did not advance to the final.

Marks will look for a second national title in the 5,000 meter run on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 PM.
