Murphy-Weise, Whinney Run Mile at David Hemery Valentine Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - Senior Ellie Murphy-Weise (San Francisco, Calif.) and first year Ella Whinney (Madison, Wis.) raced in the mile event for Wellesley College track and field on Friday as part of the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University.

Running alongside many top Division I runners and some of the best club runners in New England, Whinney finished with a 5:17.67 while Murphy-Weise was just behind at 5:18.32 to place 241st and 249th.

Tomorrow the pair will join forces with first years Claire Peng (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Aleah Ghiasuddin (Newburyport, Mass.) in the distance medley relay at Boston University while other Wellesley runners will be at the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT.
