Blue Volleyball’s Reece Named AVCA All-Region Honorable Mention

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College volleyball sophomore Yasmine Reece (New Rochelle, N.Y.) has been named a 2016 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) New England Region Honorable Mention All-Region selection. 

Reece earns AVCA All-Region accolades for the second time in her career, having also been named to the All-Region team in 2015. The Wellesley sophomore middle hitter led the Blue at the net in 2016, recording a team-high 348 kills and 52 total blocks. Reece's 4.05 kills per set average was the highest in the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) during the 2016 campaign. In addition, Reece established herself as an all-around threat during her sophomore campaign, amassing 187 digs and 18 aces to go along with her standout numbers in the front row.

Wellesley volleyball finished with a 12-16 overall record in 2016, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NEWMAC postseason tournament.
