Wellesley's Reece Earns NEWMAC Volleyball Offense Player of the Week Honors

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College volleyball junior Yasmine Reece (New Rochelle, N.Y.) has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) volleyball Offensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2017. Reece has now earned NEWMAC Athlete of the Week honors four times in her career.

Reece finished the week with 44 kills in two matches, as the Blue extended their season-high win streak to 10 with a pair of wins. Reece recorded a career-high 35 kills, hitting .552 with just three errors, and adding 10 digs and three blocks in a five-set victory at Clark on Tuesday. She then added nine kills and made only one error in a 3-1 victory on the road Friday at UMass Boston. Reece is the third Wellesley player to earn the award this season, joining classmate Michelle Li (Scarsdale, N.Y.) and first year Lauren Gedney (Huntersville, N.C.).

Reece and the Blue return to action tonight, October 10, with a 7:00 PM NEWMAC contest at Coast Guard.
