Wellesley Volleyball Earns At-Large Bid To 2017 NCAA Division III Tournament

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College volleyball will play Wesleyan University (Conn.) in the opening round of the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship on Friday, November 10, at 5:30 PM at Johnson & Wales University's Wildcat Center in Providence, R.I..

Wellesley (22-6 overall) will be making the program's 12th trip to the NCAA volleyball tournament and the program's first since 2013. The Blue have been to the NCAA Tournament 11 times under the direction of Head Coach Dorothy Webb, advancing to five NCAA National Quarterfinals and making two Final Four appearances.

Wellesley earned an at-large bid after falling to MIT in the NEWMAC Championship on Sunday. Wesleyan (21-5) defeated Tufts to win the program's first-ever conference championship and will make just the second trip in program history to the NCAA Tournament. 

The winner of the Wellesley vs. Wesleyan (Conn.) match-up will play the winner of regional host Johnson & Wales (32-0) and Elms (19-9) on Saturday in the regional semifinals. The winner of this weekend's regional will advance to the NCAA Division III quarterfinals.
