Wellesley's Reece Earns 2nd Career AVCA Honorable Mention All-America Award

WELLESLEY, Mass. – Wellesley College volleyball junior Yasmine Reece had been named an honorable mention American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America selection, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Reece, who was also named an AVCA All-Region and New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) All-Conference first team selection this fall, earns AVCA All-America honorable mention honors for the second time in three years. Reece finished the 2017 season seven kills shy of 1,000 in her Wellesley career after posting 270 kills in 29 matches. Reece totaled 100 digs and 102 total blocks in 2017 and now has 100 or more digs to each of her three season in Blue, to go along 251 career blocks. Her 23 solo blocks and 79 block assists in 2017 were each career highs for the Wellesley middle hitter.

Reece and the Blue volleyball program went 22-7 in 2017, advancing to the NEWMAC title game and the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2013. For the compelte list of Division III All-America teams, visit avca.org.
