WESTWOOD, Mass. -- The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2018 NEWMAC Volleyball Championship bracket on Saturday afternoon at the conclusion of the regular season. The championship tournament consists of seven teams with the opening round beginning on Tuesday, October 30th. 

No. 4 Wellesley (19-5, 7-3) will welcome No. 5 WPI (21-7, 6-4) to Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse on Tuesday, October 30, at 7:00 PM. The winner of WPI at Wellesley will travel to take on No. 1 Springfield in semifinal action on Thursday, November 1. The Blue defeated WPI in dramatic fashion during the regular season, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to win 3-2 in five sets.

Springfield (22-6, 9-1) earned the top seed, a share of the regular season title, and a first round bye thanks to their regular season victory over No. 2 MIT (24-4, 9-1). MIT, who also earned a share of the regular season title, will host No. 7 Wheaton (22-9, 5-5) in quarterfinal action on Tuesday. No. 3 Babson (20-8, 8-2) will host No. 6 Coast Guard (18-11, 5-5) in the other quarterfinal. The winner of Coast Guard at Babson will take on the winner of Wheaton at MIT. The semifinal winners will compete for the crown on Saturday, November 3rd at the site of the highest remaining seed.

No. 7 Wheaton at No. 2 MIT – 7:00 p.m.

No. 6 Coast Guard at No. 3 Babson – 7:00 p.m.

No. 5 WPI at No. 4 Wellesley – 7:00 p.m.

Semifinals: Thursday, Nov. 1st (at highest remaining seeds)

Winner No. 4/5 at No. 1 Springfield  – 7:00 p.m.

Winner No.3/No. 6 vs. Winner No. 2/7 – 7:00 p.m.

Championship: Saturday, Nov. 3rd (at highest remaining seed)

Semifinal Winners – 1:00 p.m.
