Wellesley's Shoop to Play in NEWVA Volleyball Senior Classic All-Star Game

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- On Sunday, December 8, Wellesley College volleyball senior Meghan Shoop (Cypress, Calif.) will join the top senior student-athletes in NCAA Division III New England women's volleyball in the 2019 NEWVA Senior Classic All Star Game and Skills Competition. The event, proudly sponsored by adidas and The Graphic Edge, will be held at 10:00 AM in the Lahue Physical Education Center on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Mass.

A senior libero and captain, Shoop led the 2019 Wellesley squad in digs (392) and digs per set (3.66), establishing career-highs in both categories while also tallying 76 assists and 35 aces. A four-year starter, Shoop has set a standard of excellence for Wellesley volleyball both on the court and off. Shoop was selected to the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Academic All-Conference Team three straight seasons, while also helping Wellesley to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. She finished her with 971 digs (2.58 digs/set) and 117 services aces in 108 career matches played for the Blue.

The New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) provides support for volleyball coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWVA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region that have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization.
