I think I speak for all spring sport seniors when I say I am still heartbroken to not be competing in my final season wearing the Wellesley blue. I often catch myself daydreaming during Zoom classes, thinking about being back and playing again, wondering how this season would have panned out. What would have been significant chapters of my Wellesley experience will remain unwritten. And yet, I’m not filled with bitterness or regret. Although things ended prematurely, I am left feeling grateful for the people who made my time as a student-athlete irreplaceable.

To the faculty and staff, thank you for always working so hard to ensure that we can play the sports we love. Whether it is setting up our fields, packing our uniforms, or tending to our strained bodies, none of it would have been possible without you.

To all my coaches, you have helped me become an athlete who values resilience, accountability, humbleness, and grit. You have guided the team and me to be competitive while celebrating each other’s successes. I will carry on these lessons with me forever. Coach Scho: thank you for introducing me to this place that I never imagined would feel like home.

To my teammates, thank you for being the silly, cool, and strong people you are, with beautiful hearts and minds. Thank you for the bruises, the laughs, and the love. Although I am disappointed we weren’t able to finish our season together, the few games we did play reminded me why I love this sport and this team. You all deeply care about our successes, and I hope that you carry that on into next season. Know that wherever you are, I am always cheering you on through your wins, losses (i.e. the Manny), and everything in between. I love you all.
