Wellesley Athletics has allowed me to play the sport I love with the best friends I've ever had. From 4 years old to 21, softball has always been there for me. The sport has tested my resilience, taught me how to cope with failure, how to be a leader, and the importance of play and fun in our lives. Beyond that, the biggest reason behind my love for the sport was the people I got to play it with.

For years my dad was my coach, and I’m so incredibly grateful that we get to share those early mornings, sunset hitting sessions, recruiting trips, and popcorn chicken after little league. Thank you mom and dad for being the best softball parents I could ask for.

I got to play with some of the most amazing people in my life. There’s something about the bond you share with a teammate that follows the both of you forever. It was always more than a high five after a double play, or a huge cheer as you cross the plate. Softball taught me how to be there for someone- through blood, frustration, and 4:55 AM wake up calls. Through it all, your teammates are there- lifting you up, pulling you out, pushing you to be better when you fall short.

The people that I’ve met in this sport have taught me these lessons and many more. Thank you softball for everything- this game, these people, and these lessons will stay in my heart forever. And I had a fantastic time along the way.
