Pichtida “Pichy” Chhean, MS ATC joined Wellesley as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August 2022.

Chhean came to Wellesley after spending the 2021-22 academic year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). A 2020 graduate of the University of Connecticut (UConn), Chhean earned a Bachelors in Athletic Training and a minor in Psychology in 2020. Chhean went on to earn her master in Exercise Science - Sport Psychology while she was at SCSU in 2022.

At SCSU, Chhean earned a Graduate Assistantship, working with researchers in the gait analysis laboratory and assisting with research in blood pressure in the neurophysiology laboratory, while also serving as a teaching assistant in the Athletic Training program. On the sidelines and in the athletic training room at SCSU, Chhean worked primarily with the softball program but gained additional experience working with basketball, lacrosse, swimming & diving, gymnastics and football. 

As a student at UConn, Chhean was a research assistant at UConn’s Korey Stringer Institute and a teaching assistant during her senior year. She worked with the UConn women’s ice hockey and lacrosse programs, University of Hartford and Ellington (CT) High School athletics, and was a summer intern with the University of Notre Dame Sports Medicine Department and at the Dan Hurley Basketball Camp in Storrs, CT. She also gained experience as a student intern with the UConn football program.
