WORCESTER, Mass. – #10 Wellesley College Field Hockey scored the game's final three goals en route to a 4-1 win over Clark University (7-8, 1-6 NEWMAC) on Saturday afternoon on the Granger Turf Field in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey action.

The Cougars responded when Kiah Murphy connected with Lauren Mackey for her fourth tally of the season at 24:00.

Wellesley went ahead again when Alex Azzi notched her eighth goal of the season with help from Nikki Sharkin at 17:35. The Blue would cary the 2-1 advantage in to the break before adding a pair of goals in the second half.

Nathalie Gruet converted a penalty stroke at 62:37 to give the Blue a 3-1 advantage before Sharkin fed Meghan Peterson for an insurance goal with just 5:19 left to play.

Christine Tinsman played the first 18 minutes in goal for Clark before giving way to Olivia Landry, who made a career-high 11 saves in 52 minutes of action. Lucy Hurlock only needed to make two saves to earn her 15th win of the season for the Blue.

Wellesley will return to non-conference action in their next contest, hosting UMass-Dartmouth on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. Clark will wrap up its 2014 season with a road trip to Smith College next Saturday.
