The Wellesley College field hockey program has received a 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award, recognizing the team’s collective academic achievement during the fall 2017 season. In addition, six members of the Blue field hockey team have been named to the 2017 Zag Field Hockey / NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad.

The 2017 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III All-Region teams were announced on Wednesday and Wellesley College field hockey senior Emmy Hamilton (New York, N.Y.) has been named to the New England East Region First Team. In addition, junior Arielle Mitropoulos (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named to the All-Region Second Team.

The New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2017 Field Hockey All-Conference team on Tuesday and Wellesley College senior Emmy Hamilton (New York, N.Y.) and junior Arielle Mitropoulos (Cambridge, Mass.) have each earned All-Conference recognition. Hamilton was named to the All-Conference first team, while Mitropoulos earned a place on the All-Conference second team.

Second-seeded MIT scored a goal in each half to edge sixth-seeded Wellesley College field hockey, 2-1, in the semifinals of the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Championship on Saturday afternoon at Babson’s MacDowell Field.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) has announced the 2017 NEWMAC Fall Academic All-Conference Teams. A total of 24 Wellesley College student-athletes representing the Blue cross country, field hockey, soccer, and volleyball teams have been recognized.

Wellesley College field hockey junior Arielle Mitropoulos (Cambridge, Mass.) has been selected as the Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Offensive Player of the Week for competition from Oct. 23-29, it was announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore Hannah Maisano (Gambrills, Md.) scored a pair of goals and classmate Mitzi Wiggin (North Hampton, N.H.) added a goal and an assist to lead sixth-seeded Wellesley College field hockey to a 3-0 upset victory over third-seeded Smith College in the quarterfinals of the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Field Hockey Championship on Tuesday night at the Smith Turf Field.

Senior Emmy Hamilton (New York, N.Y.) scored the game-tying goal with no time left in regulation, before junior Arielle Mitropoulos (Cambridge, Mass.) scored 10:22 into overtime to send Wellesley College field hockey to a wild 4-3 victory over Wheaton College on the final day of the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) regular season on Saturday afternoon at Nordin Field.

Wellesley College field hockey senior Emmy Hamilton (New York, N.Y.) has been selected to play in the 2017 Victory Sports Tours/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Game. The game will take place on Saturday, November 18, at 5:00 PM at Bellarmine University. In all, 60 student-athletes, were selected to participate in the game, while 12 were picked as alternates.
