Wellesley's Cho Named NEWMAC Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College junior Alyssa Cho (Hillsborough, Calif.) has been named the New England Women's & Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Women's Basketball Defensive Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 10, 2019.

Cho finished the week averaging 5.5 defensive boards and 2.0 steals per game while averaging a double-double and earning All-Tournament honors as Wellesley captured the Curry College Tip-Off tournament championship. On Friday, Cho opened the season with 12 points and nine rebounds in 22 minutes in a 56-39 victory over WestConn. On Saturday, Cho tallied a team-high 16 points, 12 rebounds, including nine on the defensive end, and four steals as the Blue defeated Saint Joseph's (Me.), 58-44.

Cho and the Blue return to action next Tuesday, November 19, when the team hosts Wentworth at 7:00 PM.
