WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College Athletics will celebrate the 34th Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day when the Blue basketball team hosts Wheaton (Mass.) at Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM. This year's event will include Wellesley's second annual sports clinic for girls athletes from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM.

Girls in Kindergarten - 6th grade have the opportunity to participate in a fun sports clinic alongside Wellesley College student-athletes and coaches. Check-in will begin at 10:00 AM in Dorothy Towne Fieldhouse inside the Keohane Sports Center at Wellesley College. Participants are also invited to stay and cheer on the Blue basketball team against Wheaton College!

The event is free and open to the public and the first 100 girls registered for the clinic will receive a free Wellesley Athletics t-shirt. You must register to participate in the clinic and receive a t-shirt. Local youth teams and members of the Wellesley College community are also invited to share in the celebration and enjoy FREE ice cream at halftime of the basketball game. Parking will be available in the lot next to the Fieldhouse.

Wellesley's clinic and basketball game will be one of more than 500 events taking place across the country for National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The Day is devoted to recognizing the progress of girls and women in sports, and the benefits that sports and fitness activities can bring to the lives of all girls and women. The Day is organized nationally by the Women's Sports Foundation. Now an annual event at Wellesley, the Athletic Department will host an event on National Girls and Women in Sports Day for the fourth year in-a-row.
