Blue Crew Takes On MIT, No. 5 Williams, and Simmons on Sunday

BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 1 Wellesley College crew took second place in the Varsity Eight (V8+), Second Varsity Eight (2V8+), and Third Varsity Eight (3V8+) races on Sunday morning on the Charles River.

MIT came out on top in the early morning V8+ race with a time of 6:53.4. The Blue battled hard and finished just short with an impressive time of 6:58.4. The No. 5 ranked Williams College Ephs clocked in at 7:00.2 which was good for third. Rounding out the V8+ was the MIT Lightweights at 7:04.1 and Simmons at 7:59.2.

The 2V8+ race came down to the wire with the Engineers squeaking out a first place finish in 7:11.0. The Blue finished just behind in 7:14.3 and Williams at 7:17.3 to place third. The final race of the day was controlled by the Williams 3V8+ boat with a time of 7:18.4. Wellesley put together a time of 7:34.2 to earn second and beat out Williams (7:42.1) and MIT (7:44.4).

The Blue Crew return on Saturday, April 9 to compete against Tufts, No. 8 Wesleyan, and No. 2 Bates at the Shoemaker Boathouse (Tufts) in Medford, Mass.
