Blue Crew Takes Fourth Against Tufts, Bates, Wesleyan

MALDEN, Mass. – Wellesley College crew competed on Saturday at the Malden River against Tufts University, Bates College and Wesleyan University.

The Varsity Eight (V8+) finished second to Wesleyan in its opening race with a time of 6:52.65. In the Petite Final against Bates, Blue Crew placed second with a time of 7:00.26.

Blue Crew's Second Varsity Eight (2V8+) came in second behind Wesleyan with a time of 7:15.23. In the Petite Final, Bates topped Wellesley with a winning time of 7:20.81. The Blue finished with a time of 7:34.67.

Wellesley's Third Varsity Eight (3V8+) defeated Wesleyan in its opening round with a winning time of 7:37.67. In the Grand Final, Wellesley captured second to Tufts with a time of 7:50.20.

In the Fourth Varsity Eight (4V8+) race, Tufts won with a time of 7:21.36. Wellesley was the runner-up with a time of 7:51.84. Later, Blue Crew finished second to Tufts with a time of 8:14.34.

It will be a quick turnaround for Blue Crew. The team competes at the WPI Regatta at Lake Quinsigamond tomorrow at 8:40 AM.
