Yang Leads Blue Golf Through First Round at MHC Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- First year Chansie Yang (Laguna Niguel, Calif.) fired an opening round 79 to lead Wellesley College golf on day one of the 2018 Mount Holyoke College Invitational at the par-72, 6,575 yard Orchards Golf Club. 

The Blue are in fifth place in the team standings with a combined mark of 327. Amherst (313) leads the 17-team field, followed by Williams (316), NYU (317), Middlebury (322), and the Blue. 

Yang is currently sitting in a tie for 10th on the individual leaderboard. Classmate Audrey Lin (Fremont, Calif.) added an 81 (T-19th), while fellow first year Ella Warburg (Mercer Island, Wash.) fired an opening round 83 (T-29th). 

Junior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) finished the day with an 84 (T-35th), while first year Hannah Blonder (Westwood, Mass.) closed out the Wellesley team score with a 93 (60th).

Final round action from The Orchards begins at 8:30 AM on Sunday.
