Ryan and Caroline MacVicar Sweep Liberty League Women's Golf Weekly Awards

WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Wellesley College golf senior Ryan MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and first year Caroline MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) have swept the Liberty League women's golf awards for the week ending October 6, 2019. Ryan has been named Liberty League Performer of the Week and Caroline has been named Liberty League Rookie of the Week. 

Ryan MacVicar earns Liberty League Performer of the Week honors for the second time in her collegiate career after finishing in eighth place over the weekend at the 2019 Williams Invitational. Ryan opened the weekend with an 82 but finished as the top Blue player on the leaderboard, moving from 20th to 8th thanks to a final round 76 (+5).

Ryan's sister, Caroline finished in a tie for 11th thanks to rounds of 77 on Saturday and 83 on Sunday to earn her first Liberty League Rookie of the Week honor. Caroline had the low round for the Blue on Saturday and entered play on Sunday two strokes off the lead and in a tie for fourth place.

Ryan and Caroline's sister, Kate MacVicar (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) was also just one stroke back of Caroline on the weekend, finishing in a tie for 14th. The MacVicar sisters closed the weekend as the top three finishers for the Blue.

The 2019 Williams Invitational concluded the fall season for the Blue Golf Team, the team will return to action April 11-12 at the Vassar Invitational.


A member conference of the NCAA's Division III, The Liberty League has 11 full members and sponsors championships in 27 sports. The member institutions of the league place the highest priority on the overall quality of the educational experience and on the successful completion of its student-athletes' academic programs. The member institutions seek to establish and maintain an environment in which a student-athlete's athletic activities are conducted as an integral part of the educational experience. At the beginning of the 2012-2013 season New York University became an associate member in both men's and women's golf, while Wellesley College and Mount Holyoke College became associate members in women's golf.
