On March 13, a difficult decision was made to cancel the 2020 spring seasons for six Wellesley Athletics programs. Along with the cancellation of contests, practices and team events, the seniors in the Class of 2020 will miss the opportunity to celebrate Senior Day with their family, friends, coaches and teammates. We hope you will join us in celebrating the spring student-athletes in the Class of 2020, beginning with the seniors from the Wellesley golf program. Thank you, Seniors.

Head Coach Sherry Makerney on the Class of 2020:

"Ryan and Olivia were leaders on our team, both serving as team captains and as SAAC representatives. They continued to improve in each year on the course but they were also positive role models for each player on the team off it. The golf team wishes Ryan and Olivia all the best in their future pursuits. They will be missed."

Olivia de Cuba '20

A native of Bilthoven, Netherlands, Olivia joined the Wellesley golf program midway through her first year at Wellesley after competing in both basketball and soccer at the International School of Amsterdam and playing golf at Golfclub Amelisweerd Utrecht. Her top performances on the golf course came at Wellesley's own Nehoiden Golf Club, where she posted a collegiate best round of 81 during the 2018 Ann S. Batchelder (ASB) Invitational and where she played her final tournament for the Blue in the fall of 2019. Olivia was named a Liberty League Academic All-Conference selection in 2019.

Ryan MacVicar '20

A leader for the Blue golf program since arriving on campus in 2016, Ryan earned Liberty League All-Conference honors with a sixth place finish in her first conference championship appearance. The Tuscaloosa, Ala. native earned five Liberty League Weekly honors and was twice named to the Liberty League All-Conference team, while also earning Liberty League Academic All-Conference accolades in 2019. She will graduate with a degree in Biological Sciences after earning Liberty League Performer of the Week accolades in her final appearance in Blue, an eighth place finish this fall at the Williams Invitational.

Wellesley Athletics strives for excellence at the conference, regional, and national levels, while providing opportunities for students to achieve their potential and learn the values of discipline, leadership, critical thinking, and responsibility to oneself and others.
