Blue Golf Captures Vassar Invitational II; Sun Cards a 68

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – For the second straight day, Wellesley College golf shot a program low 18-hole score with a team score of 284 (-4) to the Vassar Invitational II competition at Casperkill G.C. on Sunday. 

First year Grace Sun (San Diego, Calif.) carded a 68 (-4) to lead all individuals. Sun's score ties the program record set by classmate Audrey Wang (Fremont, Calif.) yesterday.

First years Aileen Du (Auckland, New Zealand) also shot below par with a 70 (-2) to claim second. Wang rounded out Wellesley's top-three performers with a 72 (E).

Classmate Sophia Lewis (Ventura, Calif.) put up a 74 (+2). Senior Marilyn Fang (Beijing, China) finished with a 78 (+6) to round out the team.

First year Maria Li (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) recorded a 78 (+6) playing as an individual.

Next up, the Blue will host the one-day Ann S. Batchelder Invitational on Saturday, April 13. Competition takes place at the Nehoiden Golf Club and will use match play scoring.
